#8: Only Player To Average A Triple Double In The NBA Finals
Despite coming up short to the Warriors in the 2017 Finals, James’ numbers in the series have never been seen before. LeBron became the first player ever to average a triple-double in the Finals, despite playing one of the best teams ever. He averaged 33.6 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists per game on 56.4 percent shooting.
All of this came against the long arms of Kevin Durant, who probably had the best defensive season of his career. As well as Andre Iguodala, who has been one of the best lockdown defenders in the NBA for years.
LeBron also passed Magic Johnson for the most career triple-doubles in the Finals of all time. This should come as no surprise, because James had one of the best statistical seasons of his career. LeBron averaged career highs in rebounds (8.6) and assists (8.7) during the 2016-17 regular season.
