Ranking LeBron James Top 10 Playoff Records
#1: 1st Player To Appear In 7 Consecutive Finals In Over 50 Years
LeBron James has appeared in every NBA Finals from 2011-2017, the last seven seasons. Along with his teammate James Jones, who was with LeBron in Miami, James is the only player to make at least seven consecutive Finals since Bill Russell’s Boston Celtics in 1966.
This is one of the biggest representations of James’ dominance in the NBA. So many teams have been put together to defeat James and then torn apart by him in the postseason.
The Boston Celtics were ultimately forced to break up their core of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo because they couldn’t defeat James in Miami. The Brooklyn Nets signed Pierce, Garnett, Joe Johnson and Deron Williams in an attempt to oust The King from his throne. The Nets had their chance at the Miami Heat in the second round of the 2014 postseason. LeBron responded by having a 49-point explosion in Game 4, as Miami eliminated Brooklyn in five. The Nets traded away their draft picks to the Celtics to build that team, and they are still paying for that mistake years later.
When people think back about LeBron’s career, they will point to his seven straight Finals appearances as a way to explain his dominance throughout his prime years.
