Listen to this snippet of LeBron James and Kevin Durant’s unreleased song.

Spider Studios, which is located in Olmstead Falls, Ohio, has released a snippet of the unreleased song ESPN’s Chris Haynes reports that LeBron James and Kevin Durant recorded during the 2011 lockout.

According to Haynes, there was an attempt to feature the song in the 2012 film “Thunderstruck” starring Durant, playing as himself. Unfortunately, Durant wanted to keep the song private.

"“I heard the track years ago during post-production for ‘Thunderstruck,’” said agent Eric Goodwin, who executive produced the film and once represented both Durant and James. “It was very good. I suggested submitting it to Warner Brothers for the movie soundtrack, but KD wanted to keep it private.”"

The lyrics in the snippet are interesting as they start off at the end of a rap versefrom Durant and melds into the beginning of a hook from James.

You can clearly here Durant saying “I’m feeling like the world is Skip Bayless and I’m LeBron James” before James provides his hook (chorus) of “it ain’t easy, on the path I’m on / but put the world on my back ’cause I’m that strong / long journey I’ve been on since the very start / no way I die off, with this iron heart”.

James then ends the song saying “it’s the kid King James, Akron 3-3-0, let’s get ’em”.

After one million retweets, Spider Studios plans to release the whole song.

This wouldn’t be the first time either player recorded a song, with James releasing a freestyle in 2014 and Durant releasing a freestyle in 2011 and song in 2012.

Durant and James are both big rap aficionados and just last December, both Durant and James tagged along with multi-platinum recording artist Future, James Harden and radio personality Ebro to discuss their top five rappers of all-time (per The Fader’s Will Bundy).

Last summer, Durant talked to Genius about his pre-game playlist and how he feels about rappers including his name in songs.

Over the last couple of months, James has been previewing album reviews from his home, including rapper Kendrick Lamar’s latest installment.

While James and Durant likely aren’t going to become music artists after their careers are over and the song was more playful than a serious endeavor, it’ll be interesting to hear the whole song and get an idea of their music abilities.

Maybe they’ll even get on a song with Damian Lillard one day.
