Kevin Love must stay relevant

Kevin Love didn’t have a great game, but in his book, it was pretty solid.

Often times, Love finds a way to disappear when the going gets tough. Tonight, he stuck with it. He went 4-for-13 and secured 21 rebounds. While only scoring 15 points, Love’s 5 offensive boards and 16 defensive boards helped the Cavaliers in more ways than his scoring. He also drew several fouls after getting deep post position which led to his perfect 4-for-4 from the line.

Love also shot the ball pretty well from deep (3-for-6). Somehow the Cavs big man went just 1-for-7 from within the three point line. K-Love also lead the team with three blocks and committed just one turnover. Like I said, this wasn’t a great showing for Love, but compared to how the others played, he looks solid.

Love’s defensive assignment, Draymond Green, played poorly which is at least one plus. Love silenced Green to just 9 points on 3-for-12 from the field. His impact was felt tonight, and hopefully as the series continues Love will continue to be as involved as he was in Game 1.

Love’s final grade: B+
