Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics Game 4: What We Learned
3. The Big Three can carry the entire offense.
LeBron lamented at the end of January that the Cavs were “top-heavy as s****.” Well that appeared to be the case again in Game 4. The Big Three combined for 93 points. The rest of the team had only 19 points.
The Cavs didn’t get much offensive production the shooting guard position. J.R. Smith didn’t play bad, but he passed up a few looks from three that he doesn’t normally pass up. It should be noted that Smith’s daughter who was born premature was just released from the hospital. If anyone had an excuse for their mind to be elsewhere it was him.

However, that didn’t stop him from this tip-dunk.
Kyle Korver played the closing minutes of the game, but he didn’t have a single shot. Deron Williams and Iman Shupert also spent time as the secondary guard, but they combined for just 7 points.
It’s less than ideal to have your scoring come from just three players. Especially in the playoffs when teams game plan specifically to shut down different spots on the floor. However, when you’re talking about players as skilled as the Big Three, that isn’t always possible.
It’s rare for the Cavs to get no production outside of the Big Three recently. It shouldn’t be a cause of concern. It could be a problem if the role players don’t step up in a potential rematch against the Warriors.
