Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Boston Celtics Game 2: What We Learned
1. The Cavs still have another gear they can get to.
The numbers really do tell the story of how dominate Cleveland was.
The Cavs’ 3 pointers were finally falling. They went 19 of 39 from deep. The Cavalers also shot 56.5 percent from the floor while holding Boston to just 37.2 percent from the floor and 29.6 percent from deep.
Cleveland broke the will of Boston in a way that may be impossible to overcome. The Cavaliers led by 50 points in the third quarter. They also set an NBA record for the largest lead at halftime.
Their 130 points was enough to set a franchise record for points in a playoff game.
Cleveland also joined elite company with the win. They are now one of two teams in NBA history to win 13 straight playoff games dating back to last June.
We have seen the Cavs play well this postseason, but this was the first time we’ve seen how good they can be when they put it all together.
With that said James believes that there is still another level this team can reach.
We’ll have to wait and see if LeBron is right in saying that the Cavs have another gear. I’m not sure you can do much better than what the Cavs did in Game 2.
