Cavs vs. Raptors Game 3: What We Learned
6. LeBron’s greatness is becoming mundane, and it shouldn’t be
James crushed the spirit of the opposing crowd once again. Deep down Toronto fans knew it was coming even though they didn’t want to admit it. LeBron outscored the Raptors 13-7 by himself while he was playing in the fourth quarter.
James is having amazing performance after amazing performance so far in the playoffs. He put up 35 points on 9 of 16 shooting with 7 assists and 8 boards. This wasn’t even the top playoff performance he’s had this week.
DeRozan on the other hand had 38 points in the loss. In what might be one of the most impressive games of his career. But it wasn’t even the best game played on the floor that night.
James is now averaging 34.3 points, 7.3 assists, and 9.0 rebounds per game in the playoffs. He’s doing it while shooting 56.6 percent from the field and 48.6 percent from behind the arc. Both of which are career highs for him in the playoffs.
Just look at the rundown of his last 10 playoff games:
LeBron is playing basketball to a level that we might not see again. He is dominating on both ends of the floor. He is shooting better now than he ever has in his career. He’s also doing this in his 14th year.
What’s scary is that he might even have an extra gear he’s waiting to unleash.
No matter how this playoff runs end for Cleveland, we all should be appreciating just how great James is playing.
Many people throw this phrase around all the time, but we are truly witnessing greatness.
Enjoy it. We may never see anything like this again.
The Cavs will be looking to complete the sweep Sunday afternoon. James has never lost a game while leading 3-0 in a series. Toronto will be hoping to end that streak.
