Two Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert, aren’t in the consideration for the major offseason awards but there are two fan-voted categories that they’ve been nominated to win at the 2017 NBA Awards Show.

Cleveland Cavaliers guards Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert were each nominated to win one of the 2017 NBA Awards Show’s six fan-vote categories.

Shumpert was nominated to win Best Style, which should be surprising to nobody given Shumpert’s flair for old-school fashion and affinity for eccentric hairstyles.

He’ll be going up against two other “no-brainer” nominees in this category: the Chicago Bulls’ Dwyane Wade and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook.

Irving was nominated for Game-Winner of the Year and that shouldn’t be surprising either given Kyrie’s knack for coming up big in the clutch. The Christmas Day shot he hit over Klay Thompson, after burying “The Shot” against his teammate Stephen Curry in the 2016 NBA Finals, will keep Irving close to the hearts of Cleveland fans forever.

Irving will be going up against Westbrook in this category, after the game-winner he hit over the Denver Nuggets in a game where he recorded his record-breaking 42nd triple-double of the season.

He’ll also be going up against the Phoenix Suns’ rookie Tyler Ulis, who simply hit a sensational shot against the Boston Celtics and fellow “little man” Isaiah Thomas.

The NBA Awards Show will air for the first time on June 26th at 9PM (EST) on TNT. Traditional awards like Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year will also be given out at the awards show.

In my opinion, while Westbrook could very well win both categories, Wade should win best style with his suave postgame outfits.

Irving should win game-winner of the year. While we all knew that Westbrook would break Oscar Robertson’s triple-double record at some point. We didn’t know that Irving was so cold-hearted he could mercilessly put two daggers in the Warriors hearts.
