Bye-Bye David Griffin

Cleveland Cavaliers GM David Griffin has done everything that he can to keep LeBron and owner Dan Gilbert happy. Much speculation will come about if the Cavs do not make the Finals. This will wear on Griffin, who will have plenty of offers, and he may look elsewhere.

Griffin mortgaged the Cavaliers 2019 and beyond roster for the Cavs 2014-2018 rosters. He has given up picks and cash like they were candy to anyone who would take it. Many of his moves have been great (Channing Frye, Kyle Korver, Deron Williams, to name a few). Some of his moves have been bad (Shawn Marion and Larry Sanders come to mind).

His swings and misses have not been very expensive, but when the Cavs end up with 24 players on a 15-man roster in the course of one season, that is a red flag. With LeBron running the show, Griffin could look for greener pastures.
