The Cleveland Cavaliers are up 2-0 in their series against the Indiana Pacers, and this should be an example of how the entire Eastern Conference playoffs will be.
The Eastern Conference is weak although it has been consistently improving the last couple seasons.
If you are really counting the superstars in the NBA, the Eastern Conference has just LeBron James, the renown Cleveland Cavaliers’ leader.

Who else? Maybe Giannis, Wall, George, Butler- these players are all seriously good, but they aren’t quite the level of the Western Conference stars.
The West has James Harden, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, and Russell Westbrook. If any of those players were in the East, they would make a strong contender for a Finals spot with basically any team.
This isn’t me downplaying what John Wall and even Isaiah Thomas have done this season, but they just aren’t as dominate as the list above. A team with John Wall as their best player will not, at least not this playoffs, beat a LeBron James-led team. This is why the seeding never really mattered. LeBron James, while still in his prime, will get his.
The Cavaliers have been under much scrutiny since they had a horrendous March and have played lackluster defense for the last several months. This isn’t what Cleveland fans are use to, but regardless, the team is led by LeBron James. That alone will be enough to overpower the Eastern Conference.

With that said, his next opponent, whether it is Giannis’ Bucks or Lowry’s Raptors, will be another simple and short series for the King. It is such an easy route to the Finals, but then it gets real, and this Cavs-Warriors trilogy gets more enticing then ever before.
