LeBron James Sets Career-Highs

Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James set career-highs in a number of statistical categories this season.

While the Cleveland Cavaliers have had an up-and-down season, LeBron James has had a great season individually. Throughout the season, he’s climbed up all-time leaderboards, passing players such as Shaquille O’Neal (points), Tim Duncan (field goals), Magic Johnson (steals) and Maurice Cheeks (assists) in the record books.

Lost in the drama-filled season that focused on who was acquired, released or traded and why the Cleveland Cavaliers couldn’t seem to even play an average level of defense is one of the best seasons James has ever had.

Not only has James managed to literally play every position on the court, something James Jones says he’s doing for the first time according to USA Today’s Adi Joseph but he’s done exceptionally well as a floor general, shooter, rebounder and post player. While some have talked about his inconsistent defensive effort, when James ramps it up, he’s a terror on that end.

When players went down, James stepped up and excelled in their role for as long as he had to. When J.R. Smith went down, James upped his three-point shooting percentages. When Kevin Love went down, James upped his rebounding averages. All the while, James has prodded the front office to bring in help, challenged his teammates to play better and, more often than not, led by example with his play.
