The Cleveland Cavaliers are in the process of signing Edy Tavaras, and they have cut Larry Sanders. There will and should be questions asked.

Just as the Cleveland Cavaliers thought they had their playoff roster, the management went and cut DeAndre Liggins freeing space for most likely Dahntay Jones. After this releasing, the Cavaliers released Larry Sanders and signed Edy Tavaras. Is all this late season altering starting to raise questions in Cleveland.

Sanders and Tavaras have the same role. They are needed to prove significant shot blocking when Tristan Thompson is resting or injured. Apparently, the Cavaliers weren’t as impressed with Sanders as they hoped they would be. With that said, the Cavs have just one game to try to incorporate Edy into the rotation.

Chris Reichert, a D-League insider, wrote a piece on D-League playoff prospects recently, and he said this about Tavaras:

"There is no legitimate reason this man should be playing in this league right now. He’s been a dominant force in the paint for the 905 and there’s no way they notch a league-best record of 39-11 without him. Tavares is still just 25-years-old and is a massive human being at 7-foot-3. Shots he isn’t able to block are altered and he’s done a great job keeping blocked shots in play to ignite fastbreaks for the 905 as well."

Well, he isn’t playing in that league anymore. This acquisition could be a good move for the Cavaliers, but the little time fans were able to see Sanders could leave this debate at bay.

Regardless, this team’s postseason will not be defined by their 14th and 15th players. This will be LeBron’s playoff, and this team will go as far as he takes them. This sudden changing does seem to be an intriguing set of moves.
