4 Takeaways from the Cavs dominant victory against Boston.
It doesn’t really matter if the Cavs get the No. 1 seed.
As we all learned from the 60-win Atlanta Hawks two seasons ago, regular season records mean little when the playoffs get here, especially when they will have to go through the Cavs. Even without Love the entire series and Irving missing two games, the Cavs made quick work of the Hawks en route to the Finals. The team has the talent and experience to “steal” game on the road if need be, which gives them a decisive advantage over every other team in the Eastern Conference.
It seems like LeBron almost enjoys playing on the road in the postseason than at home. Historically James has had his best games on the road, there is nothing more he likes to do than quiet a rowdy crowd. James’ teammates seemed to have followed suit. Throughout their playoff runs the last two years, there have been times when players would thrive in hostile environment, such as when Irving got into with a fan in Detroit and waved bye to the Pistons crowd after the Cavs dispatched them in four games.
The Cavs have beaten the Celtics, Raptors and Wizards on the road this year in the regular season. While regular season games and playoff games are totally different from one another, the wine and gold definitely like their chances against any team in the East regardless if they have home court advantage.
James is the ultimate leader and when the playoffs arrive, his teammates seem to take on his persona. He has not only filled his teammates with confidence, he also has instilled in them a belief that no matter where they play, the Cavs are the better team and they will go out and prove that more times than not.
