5. Jared Sullinger

Jared Sullinger, an Ohio-native, is talented. Make no doubt about it. However, Sullinger has trouble keeping his weight down and has had his motivation questioned as well. Sullinger, who was a star player at Ohio State University with averages of 17.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists, has had solid production in a five-year career. He has 10.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

Sullinger can play both power forward and center, is a solid shooter though he attempts too many threes. He has sneaky athleticism that allows him to make plays off-the-dribble and he’s exceptional at using spins and drop-steps to create space for a shot attempt. Sullinger has jump hook shots, fadeaway jumpers and the girth to establish himself in the paint on a consistent basis. Sullinger, who will set great screens that will free up ball-handlers to probe the paint and make a play, is Kevin Love-like in his ability to deliver fullcourt passes.

He’s has the complete package on offense, although he could stand to shoot less threes.

Unfortunately, Sullinger doesn’t have the foot speed to guard on the perimeter whether he’s guarding a face-up forward or contesting a three-point shot. While he is solid guarding his man in the post, he isn’t a rim-protector because he avoids the responsibility and lacks the instinct to be.

Sullinger could be a solid addition for the Cleveland Cavaliers because he doesn’t have to do anything but spell Tristan Thompson. Nonetheless, his skillset would allow him to be a playmaker within the offense. The Cavs won’t be adding a rim-protector but Sullinger, at 260 pounds, won’t be getting bullied on the block either.
