Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard J.R. Smith is off the court but he’s not off the screen. Watch Smith and NASCAR’s Danica Patrick discuss their lives in interviews hosted by DraftKings.

Last week, DraftKings recorded a video series featuring Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard J.R. Smith and NASCAR driver Danica Patrick.

Smith, who has had an entertaining career and is on pace to finish in the top five three-point shooters in NBA history (currently 16th), is one of the most notorious figures in the NBA. Patrick, who is one of the most well-known drivers in NASCAR and the most successful female driver there’s been in NASCAR, is also a highly publicized figure.

Below is a video of the “Lightning Round” of questions:

Here are some highlights from the videos (here’s a link to the whole series):

  • J.R. Smith and Danica Patrick talk about the coolest celebrity’s number they have (Danica may be a Cavs fan, guys).
  • Danica Patrick makes J.R. Smith a veggie-smoothie.
  • J.R. Smith talks about a girlfriend who showed up to a game with another guy (Rihanna?).
  • Danica Patrick talks about James Franco calling her out for being a woman.
  • J.R. Smith talks about being in Lil Wayne and Young Money’s “Bedrock” video.

Patrick, was involved in a crash during Sunday’s Daytona 500 (along with fellow NASCAR icons Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski) but could be poised for a breakthrough season. Smith is currently with the Cleveland Cavaliers on their road trip and, after having surgery to repair a broken thumb in December, is on track to return to the court in mid-March as he chases his second NBA championship.

What’s interesting about the careers of Patrick and Smith is the parallels.

Both have overcome doubts about their ability to perform on the court or on the track. Both are highly popular in their respective sports. Finally, neither Patrick nor Smith may be considered the best of their sport but it’s impossible to say that they haven’t made major accomplishments.
