4) Tyreke Evans – Shooting Guard/Small Forward

Evans was a part of the blockbuster trade that went down this past Sunday night that involved Cousins.  If Sacramento decides they do not want to keep Evans, they will look to comes to terms on a buyout with the 27-year-old.  He would be another possible candidate for the Cavs to go out and acquire him.

Pros to signing Evans: He is a versatile wing that can play multiple positions on the basketball court.  LeBron made it clear last month he wanted a playmaker, Evans would be that playmaker for the Cavs.  Last season Evans put up 15.2 points, 6.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds for New Orleans.  He could come in and instantly fill a hole the Cavs have at the moment.  Evans could  be a nice fit alongside teammates like Kyrie Irving, Kyle Korver, Iman Shumpert and Tristan Thompson. He could also give LeBron some much-needed rest at times too.

Cons to signing Evans:  To keep it simple, Evans is injury-prone, he has been his entire career.  Last season he only appeared in 25 games for the Pelicans and this season he has missed a large chunk of the season, only appearing in 26 games so far.  Evans’ numbers also have taken a hit this year, only averaging 9.5 points and 3.3 assists.  While there would be a lot of upside to signing Evans, his past injuries should be a red flag for Cleveland, who is dealing with plenty of injuries of their own right now.

With the limited numbers of options the Cavs have, it is important they take their time and consider all options before deciding on who will fill their final roster spot.  Do not expect any decisions right away, but stayed tuned to King James Gospel for all the latest on the Cavs buyout situation.
