2) Andrew Bogut – Center

Bogut was traded from Dallas to Philadelphia in the Nerlens Noel deal yesterday, but will more then likely not be a member of the 76ers for long.  The trade deadline came and went with the 76ers unable to find a trade partner for Bogut, who wanted to be moved to a contending team.  Just like Williams, buyout talks began the two sides and upon completion, it is being reported that Bogut will likely end up in Cleveland as well, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report and the Huffington Post.

Pros of signing Bogut: The Cavs have lacked depth of the center position for the majority of LeBron’s time back with the team.

Bogut would immediately fix that problem for the wine and gold.  Bogut was a member of the Golden State Warriors for the last four seasons before being traded to Dallas this past offseason.  Having an ex-member of the Warriors on your team may prove to be beneficial if the Cavs and Warriors meet in the NBA Finals once again.  Bogut is a great rebounder, avergaing 8.3 rebounds this season.  He also protects the paint quite well, averaging 1.7 blocks per game in the last two postseasons.  Having a backup center like Bogut will only fortify the Cavs bench and give head coach Tyronn Lue more options come playoff time.

Cons of signing Bogut:  While Bougt would we a welcomed addition to the Cavs roster, his addition to the team does not come without some doubts about his health.  Bogut has a long list of injuries over the last couple seasons that include: sore hamstring, bruised right knee, sore calf and a bruised tibia.  With Bogut relegated to the backup center role, he will see less time on the floor and there be less chance of an injury occurring.  However, Bogut’s injury history is still worrisome.  Also, if the Cavs want to sign both Bogut and Williams, they will need to clear one roster spot in order to make that happen.
