Cleveland Cavaliers. . Kay Felder. B.

2016-2017 season averages:

4.2 points, 1.3 assists, 1.0 rebound, 0.4 steals per game

(15.5 points, 4.9 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 1.4 steals per 36 minutes)

40.9 percent shooting on all field goals, 35.0 percent on three-point attempts

How Kay Felder has performed prior to the All-Star break:

Kay Felder started off the season being named as the backup point guard but that plan was quickly derailed after he suffered a concussion in practice. Since then, Felder had seen spot minutes to start the season and performed decently in those but the Cleveland Cavaliers were much more comfortable letting Iman Shumpert play the role of lead guard in the second unit offense and bringing Felder into the fold slowly. However, after a single game with the Canton Charge, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ exclusive NBA Development League (NBADL) affiliate, Felder appeared to be ready to go. He was more aware of how to get to the rim with changing speeds and looked much more comfortable playing the speed of the NBA game in general, as if he had caught his rhythm in Canton. Felder also became more aware of how to use his body to finish around the rim, looking Isaiah Thomas-like at times.

The highlight of Felder’s season came after he scored 33 points in his Charge debut. He scored 25 points over his next two contests and went 11-17 from the field in that time.
