Cleveland Cavaliers: Pre-ASG Player Grades
2016-2017 season averages:
2.7 points, 0.2 assists, 0.6 rebounds, 0.2 blocks per game
(14.5 points, 1.1 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 1.1 blocks per 36 minutes)
52.5 percent shooting on all field goals, 56.8 percent on three-point attempts
How James Jones has performed prior to the All-Star break:
James Jones is known as a shooter and has only has two seasons shooting below 36.0 percent from three-point range in his career. This season though, Jones has been sensational whenever he steps on the floor for the Cavs, which he only does in spot duty. Jones has truly been a star in his role. He’s a leader in the locker room and knocking down seemingly every three-point shot he takes. Jones has even played pretty solid defense this season.
The highlight of Jones’ season came in his lone start. The Cleveland Cavaliers were facing off against the Phoenix Suns and Kevin Love was out with back spasms. Jones went 4-of-6 from three-point range and scored 14 points in 20 minutes. He also had a block and two assists.
