G Darren Collison

2016-2017 season averages: 13.7 points, 4.2 assists per game

What he can bring to the Cleveland Cavaliers:

Darren Collison is one of the most underrated guards in the league.

On the offensive end, Collison can get it done as both a scorer and a floor general on the offensive end while being able to play both guard positions. On the defensive end, Collison is constantly creating turnovers, persistent in getting around screens and aggressive in on-ball defense.

Despite his size at 6-foot-0, Collison consistently shows a grit, toughness and even showmanship on both ends.

If the Cleveland Cavaliers acquire Collison, he’ll be a player that does well in setting up the shooters with his ability to penetrate the lane. However, he’ll also be the player in the second unit that does most of the scoring outside of Kyle Korver. Collison has a crafty in-between game and this season, Collison is shooting 42.0 percent from three-point range, a career-high.

Collison won’t be a player that comes alone though and the Cleveland Cavaliers should be able to ask for a player like Ben McLemore, Garrett Temple or Kosta Koufos to be thrown into the trade. All three of those players have a skill the Cavs could use. McLemore is the best shooter, Temple is a versatile perimeter player, Koufos has the size the Cavs lack down low.
