Could The Cleveland Cavaliers Pull Off A Trade For One Of These Players?
SG Jamal Crawford
2016-2017 season averages: 12.5 points, 2.5 assists per game
What does he bring to the Cleveland Cavaliers:
Jamal Crawford is the very definition of a playmaker when it comes to the game of basketball. When Naismith was inventing the game we love so much, one could only hope he envisioned a Jamal Crawford-like player as the pinnacle of perfection. Crawford’s ball-handling, shooting and swagger on the offensive end are what the Cleveland Cavaliers need in the second unit.
The ever-flashy Crawford will dish out a lot of highlight-reel worthy dimes as well.
Crawford can be had as the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks were reportedly working on a trade centered around Austin Rivers and Carmelo Anthony. However, they needed a third team to take on the three-year, $42 million contract of the 36-year-old Crawford.
Nobody bit but the Cavs should.
Sure, Shumpert going back to the New York Knicks would be crazy but with Phil Jackson, anything is possible. Shumpert’s contract is actually a value contract for a three-and-D considering the contracts that players like Evan Turner and Allen Crabbe signed last offseason. The Knicks even pay Courtney Lee $12 million a year and he was traded four times before signing with New York.
Besides, with Anthony gone the Knicks will need all the help on the wing they can get.
