Trade #6: The First Failure in Dallas

The Dallas Mavericks and the Cleveland Cavaliers in my mind may not be able to get a trade done. While the Cavaliers have inquired about a trade for Deron Williams, the key is that within the ESPN Trade Machine, I can not insert trade exceptions.

The Cavaliers may be able to use the millions that they have in trade exceptions to workout a deal. The Cavaliers truly want Williams, but they most likely will only get him if he is bought out.

Another member of the Mavericks who is a candidate for a buyout with Andrew Bogut. Sitting at 19-30 and actually only 2.5 games out of the eighth seed in the West, the Mavericks season has just not panned out how they imagined. They signed Harrison Barnes and were trying to give Dirk one last shot.

But, it is time to tank. They need the turmoil this season in order to draft one of the highly coveted point guards of this years upcoming draft. Buying these two players out is not some fantasy for the Cavaliers. What this situation closely because Williams could be the future backup point guard if bought out!
