Trade #3: The Blockbuster with the Nets

Brooklyn Nets acquire Tristan Thompson and Iman Shumpert; Cleveland Cavaliers acquire Brook Lopez and Randy Foye.

Why the Cavaliers would do it:

The Cavaliers are in need of another scoring option. Offensively, Tristan Thompson struggles to help space the offense. He shoots 69.2% of his shots from within three feet. Thompson still struggles to score offensively averaging just 7.5 points per game. Brook Lopez may be the four star that the Cavaliers need. He would provide a scoring big beside Kevin Love and a lengthy big to protect the rim also. They would also receive Foye to help run their second unit since they could convert him to a point guard.

Why the Nets would do it:

The Nets need to reset. Brook Lopez is not the focus for this teams future. While they would be giving away their only dynamic scorer, the Nets could suffer a couple more horrific years in order to snag some quality prospects. The Nets are 9-40, so why not blow it up? The Nets would definitely also ask for a pick. Which if serious about a deal, Cleveland would relinquish.
