Trade #2: The C’s

Cavaliers acquire Gerald Green, and the Celtics acquire DeAndre Liggins.

Why the Cavaliers would do this trade:

The Cavaliers want a playmaker, right? Well, throughout his career I feel like Gerald Green has been an underrated playmaker. Green has scored 5.0 points per game and played less than 11 minutes per game. This is guy that scored 15.8 points per game for a Suns team during the 2013-2014 season. He’s a high flier that has the ability to connect from outside.

Why the Celtics would do this trade:

The Celtics are in a youth movement while trying to stay relevant right now. Gerald Green, who plays less than 11.0 minutes per game, is irrelevant on this team. But, Liggins could find himself, if not playing much, still having the potential for time on the C’s. Right now, Liggins gets little time in Cleveland. The Celtics could use his perimeter defense to go along with their current youth movement while shipping away someone they don’t need anyway.
