Trade #20: The Balling 76ers

Cleveland Cavaliers acquire Rodriguez; 76ers acquire Shumpert.

Why Cleveland would do it:

Cleveland needs a point guard. This is the one obvious void that Cleveland must fill. Sergio, who has averaged 8.1 points per game and 5.1 assists per game, is a quality backup point guard, and the Cavaliers could use his talent. The Cavs already struck out when they went for McConnell, so maybe they would have better luck with Sergio!

Why Philadelphia would do it:

The 76ers have a very capable TJ McConnell behind Rodriguez, and they are doubtful to make the playoffs. The 76ers are fourteenth in the East, and they should easily get a nice and high lottery pick. This would allow them to draft an excellent point guard and have McConnell AND Shumpert holding down their bench. This is about the future of Philly.
