Cleveland Cavaliers: Top 5 Trade Targets That Fit Into Their Reduced Trade Exception

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a new set of trade assets they can use and with that the trade targets they have have been altered as well. Here are five players the Cavs could trade for that would fit into their traded player exceptions.

The Cleveland Cavaliers biggest trade chip to this point, outside of a future first-round draft pick and the promising Cedi Osman of Anadolu Efes was a $9.6 million traded player exception they received when they traded Anderson Varejao. Initially, when the trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks was reported, there was no mention of the Cleveland Cavaliers having absorbed Kyle Korver’s salary into that traded player exception.

Yet, it’s since been reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers now have three trade exceptions, one for $4.8 million and the result of trading Mike Dunleavy Jr., one is $2.2 million and the result of trading Mo Williams. The $9.6 million trade exception is now valued at $4.4 million, the result of absorbing Korver’s $5.2 million salary.

With that change, a lot of the team’s trade targets may have changed.
