“Ooouuu. These haters on my body shake ’em off.”

There’s no doubt that lyrics like that fit the game of Irving who, despite struggling for most of the game, came through in the clutch and scored 14 points in the forth quarter including the game winner. Irving, as it has been said many times before, is the heir apparent to James’ throne in Cleveland. The way he can get off against any opponent is amazing and lately Irving has become quite the facilitator while cutting down on his turnovers. Including this game, Irving has 50 assists compared to just 13 turnovers in his last five games. That’s the type of play that happens when you have an apprenticeship with the best player in the world.

Irving is becoming quite the Warrior slayer. Even his other mentor, Kobe Bryant, chimed in.

That’s right. Irving’s two mentors are two of the best players in NBA history and each have a Jordan-esque legacy. Irving is so clutch that Curry literally covered his face on the Cavs final possession. He probably knew what was coming, is my guess.

This will be Irving’s team one day and when it is the franchise will be in good hands.
