For this team to be at their best, the Big Three has to be at their best. What does this mean to you?

Quenton Albertie: For the Big Three to be at their best I think all three need to be rolling on all cylinders offensively and that their defensive impact as a unit is a net positive as well. They all have roles on offense to excel in right now and it’s pretty Golden State Warriors-like. LeBron James is in Draymond Green‘s role as the juggernaut drive-and-kick facilitator. Kyrie Irving is in Stephen Curry‘s role as the rogue, silky smooth and explosive point guard that uses his own sensationalism to get his teammates open. Kevin Love is in Klay Thompson‘s role as the premier catch-and-shoot player in the starting lineup. However, at least one of J.R. Smith and Tristan Thompson have to be playing well defensively for the Big Three to play their best. Someone needs to be able to pick up the players that Irving and Love don’t look so hot guarding.

Jackson Flickinger: The Big Three being at their best isn’t something that scares me. Like other teams in the league, the Cavs are built around their best three players.

If the Warriors played and Kevin Durant, Curry and Thompson were not playing well then they would probably lose if they’re playing a quality team. Javale McGee and Shaun Livingston aren’t going to be able to bail them out. That’s just the way the NBA works.

For teams to win they need to have their best players playing well. It’s important to have a good supporting cast like the Cavs do. However, if you’re depending on Channing Frye and Smith to carry the scoring load for your team, then you’re probably going to lose most games.

Daniel Opacich: The Cavs’ Big Three has become a powerful trio to contend with. The have defined and embraced their roles well. To me, we need these guys to remain healthy. Without health and consistency we could be a team that can be defended well by focusing on the Big 2-3 that are able to play.
