This was one for the ages, folks. Love finished the game with 40 points, his highest total since joining the Cavaliers.
Klay Thompson set the mark in 2015 with 37 points in the third quarter vs. the Sacramento Kings, but Love’s performance was right on par. It’s sure hard to lose a game when you get a performance like that from Love, who was already at his regular season average for points at four-and-a-half minutes into the game.
It was a quarter that even King James won’t be able to eclipse. Imagine that.
