Today’s “Cavs Daily Gospel” has a thankful note for the Cleveland Indians.
Today’s Cav’s Daily Gospel extends its thanks and sympathy to the Cleveland Indians, Indians’ fans, and Clevelanders.
"Cleveland Indians and Indians fans:I’m not a big follower of baseball but I’m every bit of both a LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers fan as you can get. I admit, I didn’t watch the World Series. I don’t know baseball well enough to watch it nor have I had the interest in sitting through games consistently, they’re too long.Yet, as I watched the Cleveland Indians and the fans of the Indians have hope and inspire the city of Cleveland, I became drunk with affection for a city I’ve never been to.It was amazing watching James and the team go out to the games and celebrate, for the city to be alight with hope, for the NBA to move back the time of the Cleveland Cavaliers game on short notice to accommodate the World Series.I’ve never had a team to root for in baseball. There hasn’t been a team I’ve seen that truly made me interested in baseball. I have slight interest in the Colorado Rockies and New York Yankees but neither of those teams have made an impression on me for me to root for them, I just picked them for simplistic reasons. I was born in Colorado. In my early years I had heard Alex Rodriguez was a good player and then I felt sorry for the guy after he was slammed like no other after his PED use was revealed.Still, the Cleveland Indians have made me think that moving to Cleveland is my next step in life. The way the city seems to rally together is awesome. I also wouldn’t mind being able to attend every home game in Cleveland. In a time when people seem to unite one day and split the next, it’s amazing to think that the Cleveland Indians had everybody in Cleveland believing some type of great gift was being given to the city. I’m a fan of the team for making me interested in baseball. For inspiring themselves, others and everybody. For making me see Cleveland as a place to live. Now, can somebody explain to me everything there is to know about baseball? With thanks,Quenton Albertie"
