Today’s “Cavs Daily Gospel” has a spotlight on 3-1 series leads.

Tonight could bring Cleveland their second pro championship in a span as short as the drought was long. With a 3-1 series lead, the Cleveland Indians lost 3-2 against the Chicago Cubs in Game 5. Subsequently, the Tribe is sitting with a 3-2 series lead and the chance to close the series at home and in close proximity with the reigning NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers.

One that happens, if it does, imagine the celebration that’ll occur. The only thing Clevelanders will feel like they can lose at that point is their minds.

Or Browns games.

A disappointing fact that could cease to be a reality if LeBron James was the quarterback. But alas, the King is the quarterback of the Cavs and, in leading his team to a 3-0 start in the regular season and earning his 54th player of the week award, gives credence to the belief that he hasn’t lost a step.

While he doesn’t play the aggressive man-to-man defense we’ve seen from most elite defenders, advanced defensive metrics say James is playing the best defense of his career to start the season. Look for hours at players with notable defense and he’s seemingly playing the best defense of any player that’s not a center that’s not a center.

James may finally get his crown jewel, a Defensive Player of the Year award.

In other news, James celebrated Halloween by trolling the Golden State Warriors. If you’re a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, it was hilarious. If you’re a Golden State Warriors fan, probably not so much.

After a look at James’ defensive impact on the Cleveland Cavaliers, King James Gospel will take a look at  Cavs stories from around the web.
