It’s been two years and one championship since the Kevin Love-Andrew Wiggins trade. To celebrate, here are Love’s highest scoring games with the Cavs.
Whether people believe it was a good move or not, trading Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love seemed to turn out pretty well for the Cleveland Cavaliers. They hoisted up the Larry O’Brien trophy this past summer and in large part it was thanks to Love.
Recency bias would have us believe that Love isn’t a good fit for the Cavs, as he struggled quite a bit against the powerhouse Golden State Warriors. But reading between the lines, we can see just how important Love was to the Cavs championship run.

For starters, Love played pretty stellar defense on Stephen Curry with 30 seconds left and a one-possession game with the Cavs up by just three. He also recorded 14 rebounds in that final game and the Cavs needed every extra possession to get that final win.
Beyond Game 7 of the NBA Finals, Love was extremely important to the Cavs during the entire regular season and well into the playoffs. With Kyrie Irving recovering from a debilitating kneecap fracture, Love had to pick up his offense to carry the team without his mate.
Even after Kyrie returned, Love was able to share the scoring load with him and LeBron James, which gave LeBron the much-needed rest he needed for a deep playoff run. Here are Love’s highest scoring games over the last two years with the Cavaliers.
