Game 1 vs Orlando, 2009 Eastern Conference Finals

It is somewhat fitting that one of LeBron’s finest pre-decision performances came in a losing effort.

After sweeping the first two rounds of the playoffs, the Cavaliers came up against the Orlando Magic and James was on fire.

The Cavs started well enough, leading by double-digits for most of the first half on the back of a scorching hot James. However, they were unable to hold on as they suffered their first postseason loss of the year.

Despite the loss, James scored 49 points to go along with six rebounds and eight assists on the night, making a remarkable 20-of-30 field goal attempts.

The loss would prove pivotal as the Cavaliers surrendered home court to the Magic, an advantage they were never able to get back.
