Typically on a July 4th, some of the main events on television are the hot-dog eating contest and baseball. That wasn’t the case this year.

NBA free agency dominated the headlines. Specifically, Kevin Durant.

At 11:38 AM on July 4th, Kevin Durant tweeted a letter from The Players Tribune titled “My next chapter” that announced he was leaving Oklahoma City to join the Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors will be the heavy favorites to win it all next season. All of the pressure is on them to deliver a championship in their first season with Durant on board.
