A Rivalry That Can Achieve Mythical Status

After a team they beat in the NBA Finals added Kevin Durant, there is work to be done. That’s all the imperative Gilbert would need to get Wade in Cleveland at all costs.

Wade, miffed by Riley, may not re-sign with the team because he felt disrespected. He also might just see an opportunity to be a part of NBA history.

Beating this Golden State Warriors team while teamed up with LeBron in the NBA Finals? That’s a story whose status will achieve myth or legend.

Kevin Durant broke the Internet and the hearts of Oklahoma City Thunder fans with his decision to play with the Golden State Warriors.

Cleveland can relate. But relative difference remains.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were never as good as the Golden State Warriors were last year. The Miami Heat actually rebuilt with the Big Three, not retooled.

In addition, though Wade and Bosh would have tore it up in the Eastern Conference, the Miami Heat aren’t historically great unless LeBron joins them. The Warriors were a historically great team last year without Durant, having won a NBA-record 73 games in the regular season, and already had a Big Three.

A super team added a superstar.  The best regular season team all-time had the first unanimous regular season MVP and then added Kevin Durant. Durant, a former MVP himself, is 28 with four scoring titles.
