Free agent Dwyane Wade might have a contract agreement before July 7th and there’s a good chance it won’t be with the Miami Heat.

Despite being offered a 2-year, $40 million deal by the Miami Heat, according to ESPN‘s Dan Le Betard, after the team was spurned by Kevin Durant, Miami is not where Dwyane Wade is headed.

Relationships matter. After free agent small forward Kevin Durant agreed to a 2-year, $54.5 million deal it was obvious that Durant felt he found the one, according to his own article in The Players Tribune. After being married to the Miami Heat organization for the entirety of his 13-year long NBA career, Wade appears ready to move on.

Why?

Pat Riley’s tight wallet opened up whenever his wandering eyes did.

LeBron James is Wade’s best friend and former teammate. If Wade wants to relocate, James is intimately familiar with the nuances of Wade’s personality and play.

Similarly, Wade is familiar with James’ drive and ambition. There is a symbiotic relationship with roots already firmly in place to help the two legends elevate their legacies.

Beating this Golden State Warriors team might only be possible with another super team.
