LeBron James Is Better Than Michael Jordan
Off-the-court Value
Michael Jordan’s value is wrapped up in how he provided a universal name for fans to recognize worldwide. He also is a cultural symbol due to his Jordan franchise and the movie Space Jam‘s impact on making the youth aspire to be involved in the game.
He’s the reason many of today’s NBA players are playing today and Chicago is more recognized for Michael Jordan and the Bulls than any other reason.
However, Jordan’s image was that of an excessive gambler and a player who refused to show his moral conscience and speak on social issues.
LeBron James is a business-mogul who may be a future politician.
He recently pledged $82 million to Cleveland youth for college tuition, runs the LeBron James Foundation to help kids reach personal goals, donates heavily to the Boys & Girls Club (including the proceeds from the nationally televised “Decision”).
He’s helped grow the game by evolving it into one of social conscience and provides the image of the American Dream and Black Excellence with his rags-to-riches story and being a strong black man that avoided a lot of the temptations from riches on his way to marrying his high school sweetheart and having three children.
One of which may eventually be an NBA legend himself receiving college offers at the tender age of 11. LeBron’s shoe brand might not be of the glamorous ilk of the fashionable Jordan’s but they’re now the more practical basketball shoe.
LeBron also signed a billion-plus-dollar lifetime deal with Nike, may be in a Space Jam 2 and brought an aching city its first championship in 52 years which brought 1.3 million joyous and crying people to a championship parade and eased the minds of Craig Ehlo, Bernie Kosar, and other professional sports stars considered at-fault for the city’s championship drought.
