The Cleveland Cavaliers are in trouble, to put it mildly. After losing game one of the NBA Finals by 15 points, they show up in-game two of the Finals and losing by over 30 points. The game started with the fast pace tempo that Cavs coach Tyronn Lue wanted for his team. However, as time passed, it showed that the fast pace tempo game is something that the Golden State Warriors love to run. With Irving not producing like many thought, Love not producing and being injured, along with the Cavs’ role players not showing up, the Cavs find themselves in a must-win situation for game three of the Finals, in Cleveland.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are left wondering what they can possibly do to, to just keep these games competitive, let alone, win a game. Many experts predicted that this series could easily go six to seven games. Now, many are wondering if the Cavs can win a game in this series. It’s an unfortunate reality that the Cavs find themselves in. With the Cavs being fully loaded for these Finals, it seemed that the Cavs would be able to contend with the Warriors. Why couldn’t they? The team took the Warriors to six games last year in the Finals, without the help of Irving or Love.
The Cavs have to figure out if their starting line-up is even the right one. J.R. Smith isn’t producing for a second consecutive Finals. Tristian Thompson can only do so much with his limited offensive ability and crashing the boards. LeBron James, himself, has stated after the game two loss that he has to be better for his team to win. James had over five turnovers and that’s recipe for a loss. Channing Frye only played a few minutes last night, and I fully expect his to be in heavy rotation for game three.

Maybe it’s time to see if Love and Smith can come off the bench to give the second unit some kind of spark. There has really been no offense coming from the second unit, while the Warriors are getting key contributions from all over. Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry have yet to have one of their signature games, but it’s not needed right now. Shaun Livingston came up big in-game one for the Warriors and Draymond Green, a star in his own right, came up huge for the Warriors in their game two win.
The Cavs are also in need of a rim protector. The Warriors are doing what they want on the offensive end. Maybe a resurgence of Timothy Mozgov can do the Cavs some good. Unfortunately, the Cavs are in danger in finding themselves on the losing end of a second consecutive NBA Finals loss, worse than last year. Hopefully, some shaking up of the line-up and going back home to Cleveland, can get the Cavs back in this series.
