A trade with the Suns could take on a ton of different scenarios. Markieff Morris could be involved in many. In this deal the Cavs get a draft pick, the Lakers very valued one, while getting a veteran center, a versatile swingman and a great young shooter. Tyson Chandler and P.J. Tucker are likely very available. Devin Booker and the Lakers pick are likely less available.

Chandler gives the Cavs a solid presence at the 5 spot who is signed for a few more seasons. He isn’t aging gracefully but he is smart, a good rim protector and can finish high handoffs. Tucker can back up both wing positions which would help against he Warriors. Not great at any one thing, a jack of all trades player. Booker is a dynamite young shooter who would instantly be a part of the Cavs core long term. The pick could be useful in a variety of ways.

For the Suns, Love would give them balance on the offensive end, a certain star alongside Brendan Knight and Eric Bledsoe, when he returns next year from injury. While Booker is exciting, he isn’t a piece to build around. Dealing the Lakers pick would be risky but the Lottery is a crapshoot while Love is a known commodity.

The Suns famous training staff should also prolong Love’s career and help keep him from continuous injuries that have plagued him.
