Five Kevin Love Trade Scenarios
The next two trades will look similar. Here the LA Lakers get their next star in Love and Love gets to go “home” to where he played college ball. Love and Julius Randle are not perfect fits together but the Lakers can figure that out down the road by moving the 2nd year player if they need. His value will go up if he returns healthy this year.
Love gives the Lakers a star that should be able to play with Kobe Bryant for at least a year and the team would be more interesting to free agents with Love on board. The Lakers are thinking about not picking up Hill’s contract option for this year and Kelly is a Love-lite player. Moving the #2 pick for a for sure stud is a deal they have to make.
For the Cavs this is an interesting decision. D’Angelo Russell has been compared to Stephen Curry a little bit and can play both the lead guard and shooting guard. The 6’5″ guard out of Ohio State is a great passer and shooter. He can facilitate or play off the ball. He would play great next to Kyrie while getting to grow and develop with LeBron. Hill gives them an inside player who can shoot a little but is a good rebounder while Kelly is a backup shooting big man, someone the Cavs could use if moving Love.
