NBA Finals Bold Prediction: Cavaliers Win In Six Games
They’ve done everything they’ve needed to so far to get to the NBA’s most elite stage, the NBA Finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers that is! Fighting through injuries, series deficits, and last second shots, the Cavs have done it all to get to the 2015 NBA Finals.
That being said, they aren’t done yet. Heading into the Finals, the Cavaliers face a heavily talented and well rounded Stephen Curry, I mean the Golden State Warriors. Kidding aside, the Warriors may be the best team in the NBA. Their astonishing shooting and hard nosed defense has put them in a class of their own atop the NBA this season. This versatile matchup between these two powerhouse basketball teams should allow for a historic series.
The Warriors have everything they need to win the 2015 NBA Finals. Pure shooting, gritty defense, tremendous post game, they have everything a team needs to win. Unfortunately, they don’t have LeBron James.
It’s not going to be easy for the Cavaliers, as they statistically don’t have any chance of winning, once again. What they do have going for them is experience, momentum, and the best player in the world, LeBron James. Yes, a lot of this “Bold Prediction” is based off of James’ ability to win. It doesn’t matter though, because watching him player you know when he is going to lose and you know when he isn’t and right now, he ISN’T going to lose. He’s averaging 27.6 points, 1.8 steals, 8.3 assists, and 10.4 rebounds per game, and averaged nearly a triple double in the Cavliers Sweep of the Altanta Hawks in the Conference Finals, 30.3 PPG, 11.0 RPG, and 9.3 APG.
Throughout this entire NBA Playoffs, the Cavaliers have had four consistent players that they could rely on to win games. The rest of the team play as phenomenal role players and have stayed that way throughout the playoffs, but these select players have really turned into key guys for the Cavs this postseason. LeBron James, J.R. Smith, Tristan Thompson, and Matthew Dellavedova may be the biggest group of misfits that would lead an NBA team. If it wasn’t for injuries throughout the year and a revived career in J.R. Smith, LeBron would be the only one in the starting lineup going into the Finals. However, they have turned this injury ridden Cavaliers into championship contenders.
Although J.R. Smith isn’t a reliable number two man on any team, averaging only 13.1 points, 1.3 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game, he is known to be very confident during the postseason. That can come as a huge boost for the Cavaliers as they try and salvage every ounce of experience from their team.
Matthew Dellavedova, may be the scrappiest player in this postseason. His 7.0 points and 2.6 assists per game don’t show much of the fight he has during games. He has truly become a leader for the Cavs and displays that when he shuts down opposing guards and dives for almost every loose ball.
For Tristan Thompson, no player in the NBA can rebound as well as he can right now. He averages 9.9 rebounds per game and has had eight games with double digit boards. It doesn’t matter who has guarded him, Thompson has been a freak in the paint.
These land of misfit players have combined with the best player in the world, LeBron James, and a solid role playing support group, to create a team that is almost unstoppable.
Now, beating the Warriors isn’t guaranteed. In fact, this series has all the makings of one of the best of the decade. It’s a matchup of the league’s true bests, both player vs. player and team vs. team. No one can deny that LeBron vs. Curry is a battle of the best, James said it himself when asked how to slow Curry down. “Well, the same way you slow me down, you can’t.”
Curry’s play is outstanding. 29.2 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 6.4 APG, and to top it all off, a 43% three-point percentage, he’s proven he’s unstoppable. Not to mention, he has a supporting cast of Klay Thompson (19.7 PPG, 2.9 APG, 3.7 RPG), Andrew Bogut (5.3 PPG, 1.9 BPG, and 8.6 RPG), Draymond Green (14.0 PPG, 5.3 APG, and 10.8 RPG), and many more.
Everyone knows it’s going to be an incredible series and hey, no one’s complaining. Who doesn’t want the NBA Finals to be a fight to the death? Having the best of the best battle for the top spot is what fans love. What’ll be even better, is when the Cavaliers take the trophy back to Cleveland.
The Warriors have everything going for them. It doesn’t matter though, because when James wants to win, he wins. There isn’t a player on the Warriors who can slow him down and as biased as that is, it’s true. He’s the best player in basketball and with that comes an unstoppable status. You can say that the Cavaliers don’t have the supporting cast to win with Kevin Love out and Kyrie Irving still hurt but the Cavs have shown they are more than capable of winning without them.

It’ll be a hard fought battle right to the very end in this 2015 NBA Finals showdown. Two teams with much to earn are competing for a spot in history. The series looks to have all the makings of a historic battle, with one team coming out on top. Fortunately, for Cleveland fans, it’ll be the Cavaliers. LeBron James is going into this NBA Finals series with everything to prove and a the biggest chance he’s had to fulfill his destiny in Cleveland. There isn’t any stopping James this time around, as he is going to finally bring the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy to his hometown.
My bold prediction: the Cavaliers win the 2015 NBA Finals in six games.
