It all started at the top with LeBron James deciding to come back to Cleveland. He was the first domino to fall for Griff and had very little to do with what the GM was doing. The Cavs would look completely different had LeBron decided to stay in Miami. Some of the veterans would not have signed in Cleveland and at least one trade would not have happened.

Instead, James saw Irving sign his extension to stay in Cleveland, young players, the chance to upgrade in trades and free agency and a chance to come home. We can be honest, if the Cavs had zero talent LeBron would not have returned.

James’ return home allowed for many of the moves to happen but also hastened the elevation of Irving, the Cavs star for years to come. With James by his side to mentor, guide, push and help him on and off the floor, Irving has been able to take steps forward to super-stardom.

On the floor LeBron has had an interesting season. Concerns about his health, relationship with Coach David Blatt (not one of our slides today but an important addition by Griff) and seeming frustration with is teammates all have popped up. His two week sabbatical seemed to clear his mind and body and have him ready to go. Since he has returned, plus some other moves, the Cavs have been hitting on all cylinders and are the best team since mid-January.

Without LeBron James coming to the Cavs the rest of these moves may not have happened and, even if they did, may not have had the kind of impact that they have.
