The Cleveland Cavaliers may be in the East but Kevin Love says his heart will always be out West in Oregon.
Kevin Love has had a basketball career that has taken him from Oregon to Southern California, Minnesota and now Cleveland. But while he has had a journey in his career, his heart will always be where he grew up as a kid.

When Kevin Love was still with the Timberwolves last season, everyone was predicting he’d sign with the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2015 since he went to UCLA. This created the misnomer that he was from California and this was his homecoming, but you need to travel a few hundred miles north to get to Love’s real home.
Love told the Oregonian that his playing days may have him residing in Cleveland but his heart will always be in Portland.
"“Portland’s always where my heart is going to be. My immediate family still lives here. I love coming home. It’s a place that I always have loved playing. I was looking at it today saying, ‘This is the Rose Garden to me.’ That’s what I grew up with. It’s a fun place to come and play, the crowd, the energy. The fans are always great, always tough but fun to play in front of. It’s good to come home to Portland.”"
This doesn’t mean that Love wants to play for the Blazers or hates Cleveland — rather, he’s just telling us how homesick he still gets. Love will endure the homesickness if it means titles though and that’s why it’s very possible that Cleveland quickly becomes his home away from home in the near future.
