Don’t expect the first month of the season for the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers to be a cakewalk. The Cavs have a tough first month ahead of them, which includes playing five of the first seven games away from the friendly confines of the Q.

After opening the season with a win against Carmelo and the Knicks, Cleveland travels to the Windy City the very next night for a marquee match-up against the Bulls. The NBA couldn’t have chosen a tougher time for the Cavs to face the Bulls, on the second half of a back-to-back, at the United Centre and with the Cavs chemistry still likely to be extremely low. It doesn’t get much easier after that, as the Cavs travel to Portland for a tough match-up against the Blazers, but then face two non-playoff teams in the Jazz and Nuggets. The biggest opening month match for the Cavs, though, is a national televised affair on November 19, when the Spurs roll into town. Do not be surprised if the Spurs put a number on the Cavs on this night, as a double-digit Spur win could very well be in the cards. This night could act as a reality check for the new-look Cavs, and might act as a blessing in disguise later on in the season, as some lessons are sure to be learnt on this night.
