New Orleans Pelicans

I believe the Pelicans are beyond tanking. They are too good. Are they a contender? That depends on Anthony Davis and perhaps on whether Monty Williams is really the coach to take this team to the next level. In my wildest dreams George Karl or Don Nelson will come out of retirement to turn this team into the UNLV Running Rebels of the Southwest Division. The Pelicans are on the cusp, and when you are this close you don’t look for salvation in the draft. Without much fanfare this team is suddenly a scary bunch of dudes: Jrue Holiday, Anthony Davis, Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson are a potent offensive juggernaut and a team that will grow into a nightmare to face in crunch time. Special shoutout to Anthony Morrow, who has the prettiest 3-point shot this side of Stephen Curry! Love that guy.
