Dirty little secret: Dwyane Wade is no longer D. Whistle. Not as reckless as he had to be leading a one-man band, Wade doesn’t consistently generate free throws anymore, which is off-set by better shot selection and a higher raw field goal percentage. However, on a night when Wade’s shot was falling, he was able to do bang his way to the stripe to salvage his scoring. Wade is short for an off-guard, but height is basically irrelevant. Wade is long, strong, quick and explosive above the norm. He might just be the best shot-blocking guard, ever, and he’s a terror in the passing lanes, as the Mavs were reminded first-hand.
