Dwyane Wade doesn’t post the gaudiest assist numbers (anymore), but that’s more a product of his timesharing the ball with LeBron James than an indictment of his passing. Wade is a particularly good at lobs and outlets, i.e. long distance passes. The finger roll is not a “fundamental” (i.e. safe) layup choice, but Wade’s long arms and hangtime allow him to clutch once or twice in the air or even change hands against a contest before scooping in a tough shot. Wade lacks the gimmickry to excel in a Dunk Contest environment, but he’s one of the flashiest in-game dunkers, even in the halfcourt where even the best athletes tend to play it safe.
