8. Carmelo Anthony (219 points)

Melo won his first scoring title, as Kevin Durant decided he was tired of it and essentially let it go, while Anthony went on a rampage to close out the regular season. In the playoffs, the Knicks fell to the Pacers, which is only to be expected when your best player is madly in love with wing isolations that lead to contested mid-range jumpers. One way or the other, Melo is still an elite scorer and one of the better players in the league, especially when he actually tries to play defense.

7. Russell Westbrook (221 points)

Westbrook going down early in the playoffs killed all hope for the Oklahoma City Thunder. You could make the argument that Westbrook is the most athletic player — certainly guard — in the league. Yes, he loves the inefficient mid-range jumper, but the way he attacks the basket and manages to create looks for his teammates is second to none.
