#5. Jose Calderon, Dallas Mavericks
4 years/$29M (2012-2013: $10.6M)
Age: 31 (2017-2018: 35)
Peers: Al Harrington, Tayshaun Prince, John Wall
Role: Starting Point Guard
2012-2013 Statistics: 73 games, 29.6 mpg, 11.3 ppg (49.1%/46.1%/90.0%), 2.4 rpg, 7.1 apg, 0.8 spg, 0.1 bpg
Rationale: Calderon is a massive upgrade from Darren Collison and Mike James. The assist-to-turnover ration poster boy, Calderon is also an elite shooter. A turnstile defensively, Calderon will guard Jrue Holiday, Jeremy Lin, Mike Conley, Jr. and Tony Parker–in his division. The Mavs may make the playoffs but they are not winning anything as is.
