#8. Tyreke Evans, New Orleans Pelicans
4 years/$44M (2012-2013: $5.3M)
Age: 23 (2017-2018: 27)
Peers: DeAndre Jordan, Richard Jefferson, Joakim Noah
Role: Sixth Man
2012-2013 Statistics: 65 games, 31.0 mpg, 15.2 ppg (47.8%/33.8%/77.5%), 4.4 rpg, 3.5 apg, 1.4 spg, 0.4 bpg
Rationale: The former Rookie of the Year had a bounce back year on the wing, setting career-highs in field-goal and three-point percentages. However, Evans now joins a crowded albeit star-studded backcourt in New Orleans. While this contract will include Evans’ prime years and he still has plenty of upside, it’s hard to believe that a ball-dominant wing with a busted jumper will earn his paycheck off the ball.
